HEFC provides emergency food services to households in Alta Vista, Heron Park, Playfair Park, Riverside Park, and Hunt Club East areas only.

Due to unprecedented demand on food banks, HEFC is only able to provide food to those who live in the catchment area. If you are not sure which neighbourhood you live in, use this Ottawa Food Bank searchable map to find a food bank close to you.

Food is provided only once per month. Amounts of food provided will depend on the numbers of adults and children in the household. See Service Conditions.

Persons requesting food must register with us. Please bring proof of name and address for each person in the household (including children).  Example:  lease, driver's licence, health cards, Ontario Works statement, electricity or heating bill.

​

If  you have your own grocery bags, please bring them. It you are travelling by bus, it will be easier if you have a wheeled cart.

 

The OC Transpo buses that go to HEFC are number 44 and 46.

The Ottawa Mission Food truck travels to 35 locations with hot prepared meals. The truck is usually at the HEFC location on Fridays from 10:45am - 11:45am.
