The Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC) invites applications for a one-year,

part-time, Assistant Coordinator position

1. Job Title: Assistant Coordinator 


2. Role: The Assistant Coordinator supports the delivery of services provided by the Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC) and reports to the Executive Coordinator.


3. Key Responsibilities: 

●        Perform administrative tasks including data entry and record-keeping

●        Coordinate schedules for volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations.

●        Prepare inventory reports.

●        Respond to email and phone inquiries.

●        Support daily food bank operations, including stocking food items and distributing food to clients.

●        Ensure donations are accounted for and stored properly.

●        Assist in ensuring that the facility is well organized, and clean.


4. Required Qualification:

  • Completion of secondary education;

  • Administrative and service delivery experience as a volunteer or in employment;

  • Excellent interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.


5. Preferred Qualifications: The ability to speak Arabic and/or French would be an asset


6. Work Environment and Conditions: The successful applicant will work 16 hours a week from Tuesday to Friday at the Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC). Please note that this includes work on Wednesday evenings from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

7. Salary Range: $18.50 to $20 an hour


8.
