Volunteering at the HEFC
The Heron Emergency Food Centre (HEFC) could never
meet the needs of the hungry in our community without the
help of those who so generously donate their time every week.
Volunteer contributions are wide ranging.
How to Volunteer
To volunteer, drop by our distribution location at 1480 Heron Road
during our hours of operation and speak to our Executive
Coordinator. Volunteer as often as you like, once a week or once a
month. We are grateful for all help.
Don't have time to volunteer? How about organizing a small fund
raiser or food drive at your school or place of work? It doesn't take much to make a difference. Like to garden? How about sharing the fruits (or should we say vegetables?) of your labour by growing an extra row and bringing it in sometime?
Become a Board member - The HEFC is managed by a board of directors that meets monthly (10 times per year). We are always looking for enthusiastic people to serve on the board.
